Endless Kombinations…

The Orange Wine Region offers cool climate wine and a food basket that can be the envy of anywhere in the world.

However, your palette is yours. So have fun and be free spirited!

Pick from a feast of destinations as there are a multitude of venues on offer. But please, just remember to book ahead as some of the region’s Cellar Doors only cater for a select few.

Assume that all Cellar Doors will have a tasting fee. These are usually payable when you make your booking.

These are not included as part of your Kombi adventure and are usually around $10 - 20 per person.

And, as you can appreciate, wine purchases at any Cellar Door are at your discretion and cost.

The Pinnacle

High Altitude wines with scenery that will blow your socks off. Our Kombi revels in the mountain air.

Brangayne Of Orange. Feel the history behind their wine and let your senses experience top level Sav Blanc and Pinot.

Colmar Estate. A stone’s throw away is Colmar one of Orange’s the most awarded vineyards. Offering a superb array of sparkling, aromatic whites, Chardonnay and Pinot.

Word of Mouth Wines. Enjoy lunch at our favorite Orange Cellar Door. The best hosts and the best tasting plate. A family owned winery who focus on sustainability and minimal intervention processes.

Macquariedale Organic Wines, We’d class this as a hidden gem, with a lot of locals unaware of its existence. Nestle yourself in the bosom of the Mountain and enjoy their wine and the amazing atmosphere of their beautifully converted cellar door.

(Please note: Macquariedale can only be accessed with our recovery vehicle - a classic Land Rover Defender. As the drive is a little scary in the Kombi).

Other options along the trail include Ross Hill, Phillip Shaw and Borrodell - all with outstanding pedigree.

Nashdale Magic

Well where do we start? I might be biased but this place is amazing and delivers in buckets.

Picking four or five or even seven or eight is close to impossible. It may come down to you and your taste in wine. So please do some research and we’re there!

See Saw. A great lunchtime destination. Known as a local go-to Prosecco.

Rowlee Wines. Offer picnic hampers which are amazing. It’s classed as our “Local” and we jump the fence on occasions to enjoy a bottle of their best with some beautiful cheese.

Printhie, Sparkling royalty in Orange (Depending on the tasting experience you’re asking for there may be a premium on this excursion - sorry!)

Strawhouse, Justin is the winemaker and he blows my mind. You won’t be disappointed with either his wines or his story.

Please also look into Cargo Road Wines, Byrne Farm, Nashdale Lane Wines, De Salis, and especially Dindima. None of them will disappoint!

Bespoke Borenore

Sweeping away from the Mountain and at a lower altitude these venues deliver excellent wine and an experience to boot!

Swinging Bridge. Pure excellence utilising Orange’s premium cool climate is winemaker Tom Ward’s brief. And he deliverers in Kombiloads. Get onboard.

Heifer Station. This is a space to be a kid again. Unique and unbelievable. Enjoy this on a warm day seeing what a market garden can be or sit with a red curled up near the beckoning fireplace.

Orange Mountain Wines. They championed Viognier before anyone outside the wine industry new it was a thing. Hand crafted, small scale and traditional methods go into all their wine varieties. And don’t forget to try their cherry liqueur.

Small Acres Cyder. I know it’s not exactly wine but… Small Acres Cyder produces wonderfully authentic, full-flavored ciders so it’s not up to me to sideline them for not being of the vine.

Another option is to drop into the Hillside Harvest to gather a coffee, pastry or some fresh seasonal produce. Amazing local food, produced by amazing local people.
